Animating Your Park
A Funding Workshop & Community Social
Are you a spoken word artist, dancer, visual artist, performer, musician, storyteller?
Are you a community member who wants to see more arts programming in your local parks and public spaces?
Are you a service provider or residents association seeking to integrate outdoor, arts-based approaches to your work?
Join Toronto Arts Council,Toronto Arts Foundation and Park People for a funding workshop and community social. Find out about funding opportunities available for local arts programming in your community, connect with local artists, community organizers, and funders, and learn how to plan and host arts events in your favourite parks and public spaces.
When: Thursday, August 8, 5:30-8pm (dinner at 5:30, workshop starts at 6pm)
Where: Toronto Public Library, Malvern Branch, 30 Sewells Rd, Scarborough, ON M1B 3G5
Who: Anyone interested in learning about arts programming in parks and public spaces is welcome. All ages. Artists and non-artists. Community organizations, agencies, service providers, etc. Everyone is welcome!
How: FREE (please RSVP via this Eventbrite link so that we can plan for enough food and seating)
Accessibility: Kids welcome (we will set up a kids corner with coloring pages and Jenga). Malvern Library is a physically accessible, barrier-free space. Washrooms with accessible stalls are on the same floor as the workshop. Food will be Halal with vegan and gluten-free options. Please let us know if there are any allergies, food needs or accessibility needs we can accommodate. If you require ASL, please let us know at least two weeks before the event so we can find an interpreter for you.
