Event description

Description

The Manitoba Historical Society (MHS) will be hosting our annual Fundraising Dinner to be held on Saturday, March 30th, 2019 in the Provencher Room, Hotel Fort Garry.

The evening begins with a reception and cocktails at 6:00PM with an elegant dinner following at 7:00PM.

Please consider joining us on this special occasion as you help build our capacity as an organization as we celebrate Manitoba history together. Proceeds of this fundraiser will benefit the work of the Historical Society, western Canada's oldest such organization, founded by provincial legislation in 1879.

We are pleased to announce that our keynote speaker is Terry MacLeod*, an independent Emmy-nominated journalist and recipient of The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal. Terry has themed his presentation, "Its a bird of a day - my life at CBC". As he shares, “It was the CBC that made that phrase mean so much to me. In my time there I was the early morning bird proclaiming the beauty of the day.”

Guests will enjoy a lovely evening of dinner music, a special keynote presentation by independent Emmy-nominated journalist and recipient of The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal, Terry MacLeod, and fine dining at the historic Hotel Fort Garry. The success of our Annual Fundraising Dinner depends on the generosity of patrons like you.
