Description

**IMPORTANT NOTICE**

Before the play begins, we will conduct the business of our annual general meeting followed by the presentation of our annual recognition awards. The play starts shortly after the business meeting.

I’m Still Here is a 50-minute production that has been created by **research conducted with persons living with dementia during the early and later parts of the journey, as well as with daughters whose mothers were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. The researchers and artists worked together for more than a year to bring deeply moving experiences shared during research to life through dramatic performance. This sensitive yet upbeat drama, written and directed by Vrenia Ivonoffski, with Gail Mitchell, presents the challenges of people living with dementia during progressive stages of the disease. The intent of the play is to help diminish misunderstanding and stigma that can happen to a person with living with dementia. The play will also help caregivers and families better understand the person's everyday realities and encourage meaningful and productive interactions. There is a feedback session following the performance.

** researched by Christine Jonas-Simpson, RN, PhD, and Gail Mitchell, RN, PhD.
