About this Event

This foundational workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of anti-racism and anti-oppression through the lens of the radical practice of intersectionality. Participants will reflect on power inequity & injustice within a “Canadian” context. The session will provide an introduction into the language of social justice, and explore models to create more equitable communities. Individual activities, group exercises, and discussions allow us to examine decolonizing, intersectionality, positionality, privilege and oppression. The session will also provide context and examples of racism and anti-racist interventions with internal, interpersonal and institutional ramifications. The session is anchored in the values of solidarity and collective liberation.

No - Prerequisite

ASL interpreters will be present, as will a note taker!

Please note, this workshop is a fundraiser which helps to meet the needs of community members in crisis through community support requests.
