Description

Do you have questions about anxiety and how cannabis can benefit you?

Please join us at Farmacy’s Clinic with speaker Andrew Gill who will be discussing how cannabis can help with your anxiety.

According to Statistics Canada, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) affects between 5-6% of people at some point in their life and is the most common form of anxiety in North America. CBD (cannabidiol), a non-psychoactive cannabinoid is a fast onset mood stabilizer that boosts signaling through serotonin receptors. This interaction is known to regulate fear and anxiety-related behavior. CBD is also responsible for restoring normal endocannabinoid functioning and its neurogenesis properties affects emotional regulation-this reduces chronic stress which is a major risk factor in the development of depression. New studies about CBD are creating new avenues in how we understand anxiety and clinical depression and how we can effectively treat these conditions without pharmaceuticals. Additionally, this compound does not interfere with psychomotor and psychological functioning so you can go to work and participate in all the activities you love.

Some of the different forms of anxiety that medicinal cannabis may treat include:

-Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD)

-Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

-Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

-Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

-Panic Disorders (PD)

-Phobias
