Anxiety in Kids Presentation for Parents

Please join us for a presentation about anxiety in children by Liliana Cortes, MA, RCC. Liliana will discuss what anxiety is, how to recognize it, and how it can affect your child's and your family's life. She will explain what you can do to support your child, and how to determine if you need to seek help.
Liliana Cortes is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and has a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. She has been in private practice working with anxious children and their families since 2004; she works at LEAP Clinic in Vancouver. Liliana has conducted research looking at the effectiveness of school-based anxiety prevention programs in BC. She also delivered workshops to teachers and counsellors throughout BC in the anxiety prevention program FRIENDS for Life with the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Liliana has extensive and specialized experience in evidence-based treatments for anxiety and depression in children and adolescents. Liliana is a proud mother of 3 young children who have been her greatest teachers.
Please note: Liliana's presentation will take place from 7:00 to 8:00pm. Please stay after the presentation for our Parent Advisory Council Annual General Meeting, where you'll find out about the events, fundraising, and purchases for the school your PAC representatives have achieved this year, and our plans for next year. We will also hold our annual election for PAC executive positions.
