Course Objectives

Course Registration

You will benefit from this workshop if you:

  Are a healthcare worker working with stroke clients across the continuum

  Wish to learn techniques to communicate more effectively with clients with aphasia




Certificate of Attendance

A personalized certificate of attendance will be given to all participants. This certificate can be used to obtain continuing education credits according to each profession’s rules and regulations.


  To introduce healthcare workers to Supported Conversation for Aphasia (SCATM), helpful strategies and techniques to enhance knowledge base and ability to communicate with clients with aphasia.

  • To provide various techniques and strategies to improve your assessments and interventions and facilitate conversation with clients with aphasia.
  • To provide opportunities to practice strategies and techniques learned in the workshop through role-playing and group discussion and feedback.
  • To increase general knowledge of communication barriers and impairments.





  • There is NOregistration fee for this workshop, attendance will be limited to 40 participants. Early registration is recommended.
  • Registration includes lunch, refreshments and participant handouts.
