Join us for an online Appetite to Play workshop that focuses on the fundamentals of food and physical activity in the Early Years!

About this event

The Appetite to Play Online Workshop will enhance your knowledge, skills and confidence in creating childcare settings that support healthy eating and physical activity in the early years (0-5 years old). Planning tools, self-assessments, tips, ideas, games and activities will be shared and practiced, and you will learn more about the link between food literacy, and physical literacy and healthy child development. This online workshop is open to early years providers who are interested in learning more about physical activity and healthy eating for children 0-5 years old, and who want to increase their capacity in this field. The virtual workshop is two (2) hours in length, and count towards professional development credits for early childhood educators.

Appetite to Play is a provincial initiative that builds the capacity of early years providers to promote and encourage physical activity and healthy eating in the early years. This initiative is provided in partnership through Child Health BC, YMCA of Greater Vancouver, Childhood Obesity Foundation, Sport for Life, BC Parks and Recreation Association, the BC Ministry of Health, and the BC Alliance for Health Living.
