*Emerging Dance Artist Project
Dancemakers marks its 40th Anniversary season with the World Premiere of AROUND, the spring home show, created by Michael Trent and Dancemakers, and for the first time on the mainstage, artists from the company’s Emerging Dance Artist Project (EDAP), doubling the size of the company to ten dancers.
AROUND will continue Trent’s exploration of boundary-pushing dance through contemporary aesthetics, cross-disciplinary dialogues and collaborative engagement, the hallmarks that inform his creative process at Dancemakers. Presented in the round, a floor to ceiling veil will encircle both the audience and performers, providing an intimate space to experience the show.

About Dancemakers
Dancemakers is a contemporary dance creation centre programming residencies, performances, workshops, and ancillary activities to support the development of the field of contemporary dance in Canada. Dancemakers programs long-term fully resourced residencies for a rotating roster of local, national, and international artists, developing a cohort of artists and a body of work that is consistently shifting and in development. Through an overarching vision developed by Curator Amelia Ehrhardt, Dancemakers animates a space where contemporary dance creation, presentation, and development provoke unexpected discoveries, sensations, and meanings. Dancemakers’ home is The Centre for Creation, in Toronto's Distillery Historic District..
