Art Critique Salon with Michael King
Painting is a personal act; after you've poured your heart into a piece it can be difficult to see it objectively and it can take a lot of courage to agree to have someone assess your work. You might choose to have your work critiqued for a number of reasons: it may help you get into juried shows, align your intentions with what you want to say, to grow as an artist, increase the impact to others on an emotional level or help you sell more paintings.
Although the term "critique" can have a negative connotation, our Art Critques Salon offers a fun, supportive and education environment that will provide you with practical advice on your work while helping you improve your artist's eye. Artist and past board member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Michael King will provide honest, encouraging and respectful feedback with insight into things such as compostion, structure, mood, lighting, design and even painting and finishing techniques. He will also assist you on how to better critique your own work. Please bring one or more pieces of art. This event is by donation but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
