The last Thursday of every month we will be hosting a movie night focused on art documentaries. These films range from graffiti artists to photographers and are a great way to unwind and get inspired. Join us at the North Space, located in the LRC, to catch these films on our large scale projection wall. Click here to view other Art Doc Nights.
This month featuring: Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry
"This documentary follows the inside story of Ai Weiwei, China's most famous international artist, and its most outspoken domestic critic. Chinese authorities have shut down his blog, beaten him up, bulldozed his newly built studio, and held him in secret detention. Against a backdrop of strict censorship and an unresponsive legal system, this dissident for the digital age expresses himself and organizes people through art and social media. First-time director Alison Klayman gained unprecedented access to Ai while working as a journalist in China. Her detailed portrait provides a nuanced exploration of contemporary China and one of its most compelling public figures."
