Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon
Sat, 11 March 2017, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
Hackforge, Arts Council Windsor & Region and The School of Creative Arts at the University of Windsor invite people of all gender identities to take part in Windsor, Ontario’s first Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon!
Only 10% of Wikipedia editors identify as women. We are seeking to strengthen diversity both online and in our community through collaborative actions that encourage knowledge sharing and skill building. Tutorials will be provided for those who are new to the editing process. Snacks and light refreshments will be provided to participants.
A pre edit-a-thon research information session will take place at the Leddy Library - details TBA
Please bring along any physical research materials you may need, there are some computers available but if you have a laptop please bring it. If you will require on-site childcare let us know.
A list of pre-selected artists and some initial research will be available for those who wish to contribute but do not have an artist in mind. If you would like to suggest an artist to add to this list please contact us. We will also have access to online research materials through the Leddy Library and a laser printer to print.
People of all gender identities and expressions, particularly transgender women, cisgender women, and non binary are invited to join us for this day of communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects related to art and feminism.
