Art+Medicine Collaborative Practice: Transforming the Experience of Head and Neck Cancer BOOK LAUNCH and RECEPTION

About this Event

CELEBRATE THE LAUNCH OF THIS BREATHTAKING FUSION OF PERSONAL LIVED EXPERIENCE OF HEAD AND NECK CANCER ... AND ART!

We are pleased to launch "Art+Medicine Collaborative Practice: Transforming the Experience of Head and Neck Cancer" edited by Dr. Pamela Brett-MacLean and Dr. Lianne McTavish!* Recently published by the University of Alberta Press, this book is the culminating outcome of the multi-year, interdisciplinary "see me, hear me, heal me“ project, led by Dr. Minn Yoon in the School of Dentistry.

Join us in celebrating a unique, even breathtaking, fusion of personal lived experience of cancer … and art. Martin Kohn, PhD (Cleveland Clinic, Lerner College of Medicine) has described this book as presenting "a multidimensional view of … medical care with creativity and depth".

This special event will include a panel presentation (5:00-6:00 pm), followed by a reception featuring networking, displays, on-site book sales, cash bar, and live music.

For catering purposes, please RSVP by October 15th, via the REGISTER button above ... OR come as you can, whenever you can, even if you have not RSVP'd. Also, see FAQ's below.
