The party starts after the gallery closes. Art Social is a new way to experience our exhibitions - galleries and studios are filled with music, interactive art experiences, and mingling. If you’re 19+ come out and join the party!
For the third installment of Art Social, we're bringing you..Sips & Stories!
Have a sip and engage with the Varley’s fall exhibitions Jeff Nye: Recovery Rooms, Innovative Spirit: The Prints and Drawings of Pudlot Pudlat and Rock, Water, Tree: Works by the Group of Seven in the Jack MacQuarrie Collection with various forms of storytelling.
The Varley will be filled with music, gallery tours, snacks, and delicious drinks. Drop-in any time between 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm! This is a 19+ event.

Colour & Sketch
Be inspired by our current exhibitions and create your own materpiece!
Bring out your inner poet and drop your lines at Open Mic at 9 p.m.!
Bring your game face and challenge other participants
Take a tour or explore on your own leisure. You can take a pencil and paper to sketch whatever inspires you!
Throughout the night there will be spoken word artists who will be sharing their poems and stories:
Amy Cunningham is a Toronto-based comedian, storyteller, and writer. She wrote and performed her one person show, “here we don’t limit our repression to just our sexuality,” as part of the 2015 FRIGID Festival in New York City and was a performer at the 2015 SheDot Festival.
Dagmar Morgan is an educator, writer and spoken word poet. As an internationally published writer and two-time slam poetry champion, Dagmar uses spoken word as a healing mechanism, while providing unique mentorship.
Sean Hebert is a Toronto-based stand-up comedian and writer who earned nearly a decade of experience entertaining audiences across Canada before moving to China in 2012. In his three years living in Asia, he brought his unique perspective to twelve countries around the region as a touring headliner, in addition to regular hosting gigs.
Daniel Salij is a multi-disciplinary artist from Toronto, Ontario. Through the many mediums of music, visual art, dance, poetry, film or theatre, his expressions are heart-felt and aimed to illuminate timeless truths as simply as possible
Luke Reece is a biracial storyteller and community builder from Mississauga, engaging with young-in-craft artists that are as diverse as the community he lives in. Luke is the Artistic Director of Little Black Afro Theatre, Apprentice Resident Artist-Educator at Young People’s Theatre and co-creator of Dark Nights.
Anto Chan is the Co-Producer of Dare Storytelling, a monthly collective sharing the Heart and adventures of Toronto's people. For the past decade, he has been passionately approaching performance arts in a creative and exciting way. Creating shows and exploring new physical spaces, he loves bringing his incredibly talented friends along with him. He has travelled across Canada and on tour in Asia, connecting with diverse audiences everywhere he goes.

- The eventbrite tickets are listed as "Free", but you MUST pay $5 at the door the night of the event to participate. Cash only.
- $5 includes unlimited access to gallery tours, games and other programming for the evening.
- Drop-in anytime between 7 - 10 PM. The event is ages 19+.
