Event description

Description

Photography is not often considered a high-art form. Does it count? Should I like it? Is it worth anything? Doesn't everyone take fabulous shots with their iPhone? Photography doesn't have a long history in the world of art - at least not long compared to painting. But it doesn't take long to see that the camera can be used to create powerful art, just like any other tool in the hands of an artist. Clare Ross will address the controversy around photography as art, show us how the camera is a creative tool and talk about why those iPhone photos might not print as well as you expect. Clare’s work will be on display at NPCC in her exhibition, Conversations with Nature, for the 2019 Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival.

Neilson Park Creative Centre proudly presents this Speakers' Series. Events provide the opportunity to learn from and share with artists and creators. All events are free and open to the public. Registration is required.
