Description

Are you a resident of Victoria Village? Have you ever wanted to learn photography as a way of exploring yourself and your community?

Arts and Minds: A Community Arts Series will give residents in Victoria Village neighbourhood a series of collaborative photography workshops led by artist Sean Patenaude.

Participant will create a show of documentary photography working with a theme of identity, wellness and community, as defined by the participants themselves.

Over this 6-week program learn fun and simple lessons in photographic technique and composition and be part of exciting exercises like "shoot 20 pictures standing in one spot," to engage your creativity!

These workshops will allow participants to explore their surroundings and experience new things while developing artistic skill, then through the group show, encourage community connections with other artist-participants and the Victoria Village community at-large.

Neighbourhood Arts Network

We are a  Toronto-wide network of over 1800 members, including artists, arts organizations, cultural workers and community-engaged agencies working throughout all of Toronto, from North York to Scarborough.

Neighbourhood Arts Network takes on a variety of activities, from an interactive website with member profiles, events and projects creation, in-person networking and professional development events, advocacy, shared resources, research, and on-going partnerships with social service agencies, city departments, libraries and more.

Members receive a monthly e-newsletters with links to job opportunities, blog posts, events and member profiles. The Network creates tools for advocacy and promotion including printed directories and videos profiling member's projects.

The Neighbourhood Arts Network is a strategic initiative of the Toronto Arts Foundation.
