Asian Canadians on Lekwungen Territories: Race, Indigeneity and the Transpa...
Asian Canadians and First Nations have been interacting in Victoria area for over 150 years, and we want to hear their stories, bitter or sweet. The “Asian Canadians on Vancouver Island: Race, Indigeneity and the Transpacific” (ACVI) project team invites representatives from museums, archives, and communities for an information exchange where we can hear from you, and you can catch up on what our project has been up to for the past year: the stories we’ve uncovered so far, the events we’re planning for the fall and spring, and the many ways in which you can collaborate with us.
We invite you to join us on at the Bateman Centre, currently featuring the exhibit “Resilience of the People: A Visual History of the Traditional Territory of the Lekwungen/Songhees People,” to share insights and exchange information. We will provide light refreshments. The workshop is free but pre-registration is required and seating is limited (although there is no charge for this workshop, voluntary donations to the Bateman Centre are appreciated). Please RSVP by October 29th. If you have questions please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
