Integrators of the Future, an End User Perspective

About this Event

A look towards the future, please join October 17th in discussion with Alex Lee and hear him speak about his experiences working as both an integrator, an end user, an IT professional; how he was able to converge all of these roles into one of the most forward thinking security programs in Canada, and where he see’s the future of security integrators.

Alex Lee is a Security Advisor from the Technical Operations and Physical Security department at the City of Calgary. Prior to his employment at the city, Alex was an IT Lead for a security integrator for several years working on large scale enterprise projects ranging from Oil/Gas, Property Management, Healthcare, and critical infrastructure projects.

The following will serve as official notice that the ASIS Chapter 162 Board Elections will be held at the Luncheon, scheduled for November 21, 2019.

If you are interested in putting your name forward we ask that you attend the November Luncheon and express your desire to be included in a vote or send an email prior to the Luncheon to: communications@asis162.org

Board job descriptions include:

CHAIR

Duties: The Chapter Chair is elected by the members of the Chapter for a one-year term. This position is normally seen as a natural progression after holding some or all of the other elected Executive positions of Treasurer, Secretary and Vice-Chair. All the elected positions can be extended for subsequent terms by the process of re-election.

The Chair is responsible for presiding over all Chapter meetings and represents the Chapter to ASIS International and at external functions, performing the range of duties normally associated with a Chief Executive Officer.

The Chair is also the Chair of the Chapter Executive Committee and serves as the primary point of contact between the Regional Vice-President and the Chapter.

VICE-CHAIR

Duties: The Chapter Vice-Chair presides over all chapter meetings, functions and events when the Chapter Chairperson is not in attendance.

She uses considerable independent judgement in decisions that influence operations at the chapter level to ensure the solvency of the chapter and ROI to chapter members.

SECRETARY

Duties: The Chapter Secretary is an annually elected position. The Secretary collects and maintains minutes for all Chapter, Executive Committee, and special committee meetings.

The Secretary is responsible for maintaining all official Chapter records including, but not limited to, minutes and correspondence. He is also responsible for promptly completing and submitting a Monthly Chapter Activity Report to designated recipients as well as notifying ASIS headquarters of the results of the annual election of officers. Monthly meeting minutes are collected, copied and distributed among the Chapter leaders.

TREASURER

Duties: The Treasurer continuously monitors the chapter’s finances. The post is responsible for receipt of all monies and fees from chapter activities, pays all chapter invoices and maintains detailed accounting records, A Treasurer’s report is submitted monthly to the Chapter Executive and published on the website.
