About the speakers:

Don Bourne - “Helping start-up businesses and seasoned entrepreneurs make $$”

As an experienced small business owner, Don understands the practical reality it takes to launch, manage and grow a business. He is a mentor and the client service manager at the Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Center in Barrie. Don is also a business consultant for the South Georgian Bay, Small Business Enterprise Center, managing the Starter and Summer Company programs. His volunteer work includes mentoring for Futurpreneur and regional accelerators to support local economic growth in the community.

Don designs and delivers workshops that help entrepreneurs build strong foundations for their business models. He believes in “turning on the headlights” through strategic planning, identifying the challenges and opportunities that lead to successful ventures.

Bart Nagel - Ag and Food Entrepreneur

Bart Nagel is the general manager and co-founder of recently launched local food He also owns and runs two agricultural operations: Bulbs of Fire Garlic and Bloom Remedy (Cannabis Cultivation).

Nagel moved to Canada from the Netherlands in 2006. Looking for a life in the country, the Nagels bought an 1881 10 acre homestead in the hills just North of Penetanguishene. Having a background in business journalism, Nagels first stab at entrepreneurship was an online platform for Dutch immigrants covering working and living abroad. The entrepreneurial bug stuck and business ventures are Nagels true passion.
