The Alberta LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce and Goodlawyer share many of the same organizational goals: we want to help business owners and entrepreneurs at all stages of their business and in all areas their business are involved in. It plays a role before your company is off the ground, throughout the various ups and downs your business will experience, and all the way until the day you call it a career. Whatever stage you’re at, it’s important to think long-term about where you want to go, how you’ll keep your business protected, and to understand how using the law can help you throughout the whole process.

This webinar is a collaborative effort between the Alberta Chamber and Goodlawyer. We got together and asked what we could do to provide the most value to our members, and we came to the conclusion that we wanted to help individuals who are thinking of getting into entrepreneurship or just starting their own business.

We decided on the topic of incorporation, combining a traditional presentation with an “Ask Me Anything” portion. A real life “Good Lawyer” is coming by to give the lay of the land on the fundamentals of corporate law and why it’s a generally advantageous tool for entrepreneurs - regardless of how big you want your venture to get. Hopefully, by asking our Good Lawyer questions, we can start to dispel the myth that the law should be something to be avoided or swept under the rug until we can’t ignore the problem anymore!
