Event description

Description

On February 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, and on February 6 from 9:30-1 p.m., Sandbox members are invited to take part in two separate workshops with Richard Evans, President of EmcArts http://www.emcarts.org/. Both workshops are taking place at Hart House, University of Toronto, and this is the sign-up for Session #2.

Session #2, on the morning of February 6, will take place in the Music Room at Hart House. It is designed specifically for members of the ASO Learning Network, and it will build on the organizational innovation framework introduced during Richard Evans's talk on February 5, moving from a theoretical framework to actually applying these approaches to your organizations' own adaptive challenges. We ask that you bring anywhere from one to three other members of your core team with you--whether they’re key staff, board members, volunteers, or leading thinkers from your membership. Your team will focus, from the perspective of your individual organization, on the following aspects of innovation and adaptive change:

• questioning existing organizational assumptions and identifying evidence that contradicts those assumptions;

• developing new hypotheses about future success or propositions on which new strategies might be built; and

• describing the organization's adaptive challenges, using criteria to identify high-priority challenges, and determining the most important challenge on which to focus.

Registration for this second session will be limited to 15-20 ASOs (final number to be determined by the number of innovation team members each ASO recruits: again, we’re asking for a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 from your organization). While participants in this workshop are encouraged to attend the morning session on February 5 as well, it’s not an absolute requirement.

Doors will open at 9 a.m. on the 6th, and we’ll have coffee and pastries available then, as well as a coffee break in the middle.
