Description

This is a training event for Early Childhood Professionals, Kindergarten Teachers and Early Learning Service Providers in the Enderby Area.

Training is for for administering the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) and Ages and Stages Social Emotional Questionnaire (ASQ SE). These are developmental questionnaires are one of the most used early screening tools for the early years in. Anyone working with young children is encouraged to attend. Early Childhhood Professionals, Kindergarten Teachers, School Administrators, Children's Program Fcilitators Etc. Training Certification Available. Snacks and Lunch Provided.

ASQ3 - Broad Developmental Questionnaire

What is it?

Parent-completed questionnaires that reliably identify children from one month to 5½ years with developmental delays.

Which developmental areas does it screen?

Communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, and personal-social.

What age range does it cover?

1–66 months.

How many questionnaires are there?

21 age-appropriate questionnaires for use at 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36, 42, 48, 54, and 60 months of age.

How many items are there?

About 30 items per questionnaire about the child’s abilities.

How long does it take?

Each questionnaire takes 10–15 minutes for parents to complete and just 2–3 minutes for professionals to score.

Is it valid and reliable?

Yes. Rigorous research with an unparalleled sample of 15,138 diverse children show that ASQ-3 is reliable and valid. ASQ-3 identifies children for further assessment with excellent sensitivity (.86) and specificity (.85), the two most important indicators of accuracy for a screener.

ASQ:SE-2 (Social Emotional)

What is it?

Parent-completed questionnaires that reliably identify young children at risk for social or emotional difficulties.

Which social-emotional areas does it screen?

Self-regulation, compliance, communication, adaptive behaviors, autonomy, affect, and interaction with people.

What age range does it cover?

1–72 months.

How many questionnaires are there?

9 age-appropriate questionnaires for use at 2, 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 48, and 60 months of age.

How many items are there?

About 30 items per questionnaire.

How long does it take?

Each questionnaire takes 10–15 minutes for parents to complete and just 2–3 minutes for professionals to score.

Is it valid and reliable?

Yes. ASQ:SE-2 has been investigated with 14,074 diverse children across the age intervals and their families. Test-retest reliability is 89%; internal consistency is 84%; and validity is 83%.
