Presentation Abstract/Overview::

In many industries in North America today there is still considerable misunderstanding about the proper application of Lean methods. One such misunderstanding exists around the proper application of Kaizen methods as a continuous improvement strategy first advanced formally by Masaaki Imai in the mid-1980s. What is Kaizen improvement in its simplest form? How does Kaizen improvement fit into the larger framework of the business operation? What is needed to understand how to effectively implement Kaizen improvement? What does Kaizen improvement look like? What is a Kaizen Blitz?

During our brief presentation Ken will present the basic structure and thinking supporting Kaizen improvement as part of an case study of successful work he conducted with one of his past client companies. In this presentation Ken will provide you with an updated approach to PDCA implementation and illustrate this approach through examples provided in his case study. If you have ever wondered how to properly implement a timely and effective Kaizen improvement strategy in your worksite, then this presentation is for you.
