About this event

This 8-week course will cover both the essentials of improvisational comedy and the joys and challenges of creating a comedy ensemble. All skill levels are welcome. There is a performance set for the Monthly Improv Jam on December 21st. Participation is NOT obligatory. The first four weeks of classes will be a review of Staircase Improv's improv acronyms (LACE, STEPS, and TRIANGLE) with an accent on working together. The last two classes will focus on stage craft, lighting, and audience engagement. Wed Nov 30th is a Jam, and on Wed Dec 21st the team(s) will present a show for the first half hour of the Jam. As always, the course is taught in a safe and supportive environment where we laugh our way to learning.

Course instructor is Hugh MacLeod. Hugh has extensive teaching experience as well performance and production chops.

Classes: Wednesdays Nov. 2,9,16,23 and Dec. 7,14 at 7pm in the Elaine May Theatre

Jams: 7pm Wednesday Nov. 30 and 7pm Wednesday Dec. 21 (mini show) in the Staircase Studio Theatre

Cost: $140 + fees for 6 classes and 2 Jams.
