Event description
The Nova Scotia edition of the MERIDIAN 'Atlantic Canada Ocean Data Management Initiatives and Infrastructures' workshop

About this Event

This workshop will provide a broad, high-level overview of regional ocean data management initiatives, available resources and infrastructures. It is aimed at the ones interested in the bigger pictures that want to get a better overview of existing and developing entities mainly driven by research organizations. The agenda consists of a healthy mix of presentations, a panel discussion and discussion groups, which is giving every participant the opportunity to voice their opinion and make suggestions on what the community should concentrate on next.

Confirmed speaker include:

- Jennifer LaPlante, DeepSense

- Shayla Fitzsimmons, Canadian Integrated Ocean Observing System

- Lee Wilson, Federated Research Data Repository

A related hands-on event is taking place on the following day. It will be centred around a number of guided sessions that will give participants the opportunity to dive into various aspects of the data (management) lifecycle, FAIR principles, data management plans and recommendations from Canada’s funding agencies.
