Event description
Join us for a reading from the 2019 writer-in-residence for the Whistler Literary Society Cornelia Hoogland at the Pemberton Library.

About this Event

Join us for a special evening with Cornelia Hoogland on Monday October 21st at the Pemberton Library.

Cornelia Hoogland is the 2019 writer-in-residence for the Whistler Literary Society.

Her most recent book, Trailer Park Elegy was short-listed for the League of Canadian Poets’ 2018 Award. Hoogland’s sixth book, Woods Wolf Girl was short-listed for the ReLit Award for Poetry. Her work has been short-listed in a number of CBC literary competitions. Theatre meets poetry in Cornelia Hoogland’s performance of new work titled SNOWING INSIDE, written and composed at Alta Lake in Whistler. Recorded sound (swimmers on the lake, canoeists, birdlife and weather), meets poetry in unexpected, out-of-place ways.  Through disjuncture––from our expectations and from consistency––SNOWING INSIDE attempts, perhaps, to educate consciousness..
