This event is aimed at mothers of children with ASD who would like a night out and to try something different.  It's for people who don't necessarily consider themselves artists or creative in any way.

Cocktails 'n Canvas is a fun night of socializing and having a relaxing, creative time.  No experience is necessary! You will join other caregivers of children with ASD, and follow the step-by-step instructions of a master local artist from blank canvas to masterpiece.

An instructor will walk you through step-by-step instructions while everyone enjoys a cocktail and some conversation.

Autism Ontario will supply all the supplies you will need to recreate your own masterpiece are included.  A 16” x 20” canvas, the use of a table easel, paint, paintbrushes, a Cocktails ‘n Canvas apron, and all the supplies to have you putting brush to canvas in no time.

We will be painting "Bright Gaze".

This is a 2 hour event.  The pace is pretty casual and there’s usually time for a break (for the washroom, grab an app, to refresh your drink and just walk around and admire everyone’s creation).

You are welcome to come early and grab a bite or stay after and have a meal with some of the new friends you've just made.  Food and drink are not included, everyone just orders off the menu and pays for what they eat or drink.

Hope you can join us.

This event is intended for parents and caregivers ONLY.  Childcare will not be provided.

Spaces are limited.  Pre-registration is required.

Due to allergies and sensitivities, please refrain from wearing perfume, cologne, aftershave, or scented products such as hairspray or lotion.

General FAQ

1.) Do I need to print out ticket or email confirmations to attend this event?

For most of our events there is no need to print anything, unless the event specifies otherwise.  When you arrive at the event, you will have to check in at the registration desk.  You will be asked for your name and how many people are attending with you.  That's all.

2.) Do I need to bring proof of diagnosis?
No, not needed.  Again, just check in at the registration desk and enjoy the event.

3.) Is there a cost to attend this event?
Most of our events are free of charge because the cost is covered by Autism Ontario's Potential Programme, in partnership with Ontario’s Ministry of Children & Youth Services and the local Autism Ontario Chapter.  If there is a cost, you will see it on the registration page when you select how many ticket you want.

4.) Do I need to be a member of Autism Ontario to register and participate?
No.  While membership does provide other great opportunities, events provided through Autism Ontario’s Potential Programme are open to all families of children with ASD, under the age of 18, who reside in Ontario.
