The name AWANA is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15 (“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”) and is an acrostic meaning Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. AWANA is entered around the gospel and has a high scripture content. The two components to AWANA are discipleship, which happens through scripture memorization both at home and at club, and evangelist as we strongly encourage children to invite their friends.

As a parent, what is required of me?
First, a commitment to bringing your child weekly to AWANA, and secondly, being intentional about helping your child memorize their verses through-out the week. Not only do we want your children to experience discipleship, but we want to help set them up to succeed when it comes to learning God’s truths found directly in His Word.
What are the volunteer requirements?
Parent volunteers are needed and the requirement is to be there weekly, but you are not obligated to volunteer. However, children attend for a reduced registration fee when a parent volunteers. To volunteer you must have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and be in a growing relationship with Him. Also, you will need to fill out various Children’s Ministry forms and attend a training session for our Plan to Protect Training, AWANA training, and evacuation training.
Can I get a refund if I choose not to attend?
Unfortunately we can not refund you your money once your registration is complete. When we process your registration form we count on those funds when making orders to AWANA for club supplies.
