About our Topic:

Hour1 - "How Microsoft Azure is supposed to work" by Sharon Bennett

Back in the golden days of IT (i.e. the last 20 years), the needs of every company and client had to be packaged into a box. As Cloud technology has advanced over the years, we no longer have to squeeze anyone's needs into boxes; we can make the boxes fit their needs instead. During your hour with Sharon Bennett, SMB Partner Technology Advisor at Microsoft Canada, she will outline some scenarios that have become popular with the SMB segment. From backup, storage, and Azure Active Directory, to virtual machines and Remote App just to name a few. Sharon will show you new ways to move your clients from classic, on-premise infrastructure to customized solutions in the Cloud. We'll also run through a few key SMB scenarios highlighting different solutions using some of the services offered in Azure. After the hour, you'll never consider going back to the constraints of the “IT Box” again.

Hour2 - "Implementing Windows Azure Infrastructure in the Real World" by Kevin Kaminski

Windows Azure is an interesting world. Some of it can be very familiar to an IT Pro while other parts remain foreign. Microsoft MVP Kevin Kaminski will share his experiences implementing Azure illustrating what gotchas can be found when configuring it for the first time such as in the case of site to site and multi-VPNs. We'll examine best practices for deploying Active Directory on Windows Azure and explore how to best implement the latest version of Azure Backup and what gotchas to look out for. In addition, we'll explore the different management interfaces and attempt to make sense of the best approaches when setting up and managing virtual machines in Azure. By going through the envisioning process and some of the architectural concepts, you'll be better prepared to introduce Azure as a hybrid cloud into your own environment. This is a great time to see what it all looks like!

Don't miss this event!  One lucky attendee will go home with an HP Stream 7 sponsored by True North Group Inc.!!
