Dutch-Canadian cellist Diederik van Dijk returns to his favourite festival in his favourite part of the world. And what better music to bring along than the six solo cello suites of Johann Sebastian Bach? In this first performance, Diederik performs Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 in G and a Telemann Fantasy for viola da gamba solo. Juno-nominated jazz pianist Florian Hoefner will reflect on these works in an improvised solo piano performance. Clarinetist Christine Carter joins Florian to round out the program with a performance of Randy Woolf’s breathtaking “Everything is Green,” including the world premiere of a newly created dance film by Toronto-based dancer/choreographer Shannon Litzenberger.
