If you’re looking at your backyard fruit trees wondering how to help them thrive, join fruit tree expert David Tracey for this hands-on workshop. David will go through the basics of fruit tree pruning, so you will go home knowing when and what to cut. We will be working on a variety of dwarf fruit trees at the Queen Mary Community Garden. In this workshop you will learn:

David Tracey is a writer and environmental desinger based in Vancouver and the author of six books, including the brand new Vancouver Tree Book: A Living City Field Guide. Along with operating his own environmental design and consulting company, David is a tree care expert certified by the International Society of Arboriculture. A consultant on organic tree care, edible landscaping and organic food growing, he often leads workshops for clients including municipalities and community groups.
This is an outdoor workshop, please come dressed for the weather. If possible, please bring a pair of secateurs or hand pruning shears.
