Description
On November 7 and 8th, we aim to spread our message of media reform, diversity, and democratization to as many people as possible.
But before that happens, we need you to celebrate with us at our annual fundraiser on October 8th!
The MDD team invites you to join us for our annual fundraising concert Wednesday, October 8th, at Astorino’s (1739 Venables St) in the heart of East Vancouver beginning at 7:30PM.
Come out to show support for democratic media and independent music! Tickets are $10. All proceeds will benefit this year’s Media Democracy Days conference. Let us know if you’re coming by RSVPing through Eventbrite here.
For the sixth year in a row, we will feature exciting local acts, including Night Bus, Red Hot Icicles Burning on Fire, and Nouveau Cliché. As well, MDD has been blessed with a variety of spoken word performers including Libby Osler, Chelene Knight and Amal Rana.
Bandwidth has received backup from our generous co-sponsors at Britannia Community Centre, along with our friends in the fight for better media at CiTR 109.1FM, CJSF 90.1FM, Coastal Frequencies, and Vancouver Is Awesome.
We’ve also put together a series of life-altering prizes from Merchant’s Oyster Bar, Bandidas Taqueria, Tamam Fine Palestinian Cuisine, East Village Bakery, Tacofino, Famoso Neapolitan Pizza, Opus Art Supplies, Sad Mag, PNE Fright Nights, Far Out Coffee Post, a float-free deprivation spa, and art, stone, and knitware from local artists and artisans. Each entrant is guaranteed a chance to win one of our fabulous silent auction or door prizes. [1]
