Basic Sewing (Introductory to Intermediate Level)

Date: September 13 - October 18, 2016 (Tuesdays, 6 weeks)

Time: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Instructor: Sara Roth

Fee: $65 plus HST (Members) | Fee: $74.75 plus HST (Non Members)

Learn basic machine and hand sewing skills in a supportive environment. This class is designed for novice and beginner sewers. Topics include, understanding and using your machine, basic hand and machine stitches, alterations and professional tips and tricks. Students will also have an opportunity to work on a small project of their choice.

Sara Roth is a visual artist and art educator based in Sydney. Her multi-disciplinary art practice includes drawing, printmaking, and community-based work. Sara is also a trained dressmaker and sewed for five seasons with the Stratford Theatre Festival. She is currently working with Lumière Arts Festival Association as Event and Outreach Coordinator.
