Event description

Description

BC is committed to taking incremental steps to increase energy-efficiency requirements in the BC Building Code to make buildings net-zero energy ready by 2032. The BC Energy Step Code is enacted in April 2017 and is a part of the BC Building Code and a voluntary standard.

BCACE is inviting its members and potential members to a panel discussion with representations from the BC Standards & Safety Branch, utility and local governments on the implementation strategy, roles and responsibilities, and opportunities and challenges for Energy Step Code. We will also explore what are the plans for industry support, such as training and incentives, and capacity buliding processes withing municipalities.

Panelists:

  • Zachary May: BC Standards & Safety Branch
  • Robyn Wark: BC Hydro
  • Norm Connolly: City of New Westminster
  • Brendon McEwen: City of Richmond.

Come join us on November 22!
