BC Women Unwined - Come and Wine (Savvy Events)
Tue, 1 November 2016, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM PDT
This event will be a great time for WIMI members to connect, inspire, unwined and learn something new about our local wines concentrating on the Okanagan. Catherine Ellis will be holding an hour long wine education seminar to allow us all to look, swirl, sniff and taste, to showcase what the Okanagan has to offer. Following the tasting we will head to Tap Restaurant to enjoy a cheese and wine, to network and socialize with fellow members and have some fun.
EVERYTHING WINE TASTING 5-6pm
• Catherine will educate on the basics of wine tasting
• Okanagan Terroir and Key Grapes
• Tasting of 5 Okanagan Wines.
TAP RESTAURANT 630-9pm

Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn, discover and have fun. Our WIMI Event is exactly that kind of creative social experience, drawing on the expertise and imagination of our team of WIMI members and Catherine Ellis a Certified Wine Lover and fellow WIMI member.
All you need is an open mind, an eager palate and a spirit of exploration. We look forward to seeing our Vancouver WIMI at the event!

All ticket donations will be going towards From the Bottom Up Foundation:
From The Bottom Up Foundation is a registered nonprofit providing diaper assistance to the families of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. We find, purchase, receive and distribute different sizes of diapers to agencies within the DTES who already work with and understand the families in need of our services. Since our launch in January of this year, we have distributed over 12 thousand diapers to over 15 families living in the Downtown Eastside. Unlike any other diaper support program in the world, our foundation has focused on not just providing diapers to those in need, but eliminating all of the worries around diapers ENTIRELY. What makes us different is our unique approach. Our Foundation only accepts families into our program if we can 100 percent provide diapers for that child until he or she is potty trained. In doing so, we have the opportunity to build a relationship and trust with these vulnerable families, and can see what impacts can be made when eliminating the stress caused by an insufficient supply of diapers. By removing this worry from the mother’s mind and ensuring that each child has enough diapers to stay healthy and comfortable, we work from the bottom up to provide necessary resources and programs to ensure each family has an equal chance at success.
