Join BC Cattlemen's Association and the Canadian Cattlemen's Association for a great joint event to learn about environmental cattle industry research and a Town Hall meeting to hear about CCA's advocacy activities.
NO CHARGE. Please register below to attend all or specific parts of the event.
NOTE: Registration for dinner required by Wednesday, January 27, 2016.

KEYNOTE: "EVALUATING THE ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT OF CATTLE PRODUCTION IN CANADA"

Following the keynote will be a rotation of mini-sessions with researchers on a variety of topics surrounding the theme of environmental sustainability relating to cattle production, including:
- Using cattle to manage invasive plants
- Wildlife Management BMPs and Mitigation Strategies
- Livestock Protection: prevention, verification and mitigation
- Ecological Goods and Services (EG&S) programs
- Pyric Herbivory: Patch-burn Grazing Systems
Participants will be provided with a brief taste of a variety of research with practical solutions that can be adopted in their own operations, and will leave with additional resources and contacts for further information, and videos and resources from previous tech transfer events held in 2015.
Funding for this BCCA Technology Transfer Pilot Program event has been provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Ministry of Agriculture through the Canada-BC Agri Innovation Program under Growing Forward 2, a federal-provincial-territorial initiative.

CCA TOWN HALL MEETING
Join representatives from the Canadian Cattlemen's Association to hear updates on a number of industry issues and programs that CCA has been working on to advocate for Canada's beef producers. Attendees will hear updates from our national organizations & programs such as CCA, Canada Beef Inc., Beef Cattle Research Council, Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef, Beef Advocacy, and Cattlemen's Young Leaders, covering topics including (but not limited to):
- COOL, Trans Pacific Partnership and other trade agreements
- National Beef Strategy
- Proposal to increase National Check-off
- CCA Issues Management strategy
- Expansion of the Verified Beef Program and Sustainability programs
There will be ample opportunity for producers and attendees to ask questions and address concerns of the industry.
