Description
BCEdAccess is presenting our 5th advocacy conference - a full two days of workshops for parents, guardians, self-advocates, and allies of students with disabilities and complex learners. EARLYBIRD TICKETS AVAILABLE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 17th!
We will have remote access tickets available as well as in person. Family Support Institute is helping to organize group streaming events around the province so local families can connect in person and participate. Check with them to see if there is an event being organized in your area!
We are grateful for the sponsorship support of Inclusion BC, Family Support Institute, Your Education Matters, Vancity, and Civic Hotel and Showkraft. Their support allows us to put on a quality event and reach families and allies around the province.
Families have used autism funding for this conference in the past.
The event will take place again at the beautiful Civic Hotel in Surrey. The venue has on site accessible self-parking, and is generally physically accessible. We have a block of rooms available for registrants. More specific details about the event on our FAQ page:

We're really excited about our conference speakers and workshops!
We will be providing a certificate of completion for all workshops you attend this year, physical copies available at the registration table after the workshop, and we will email copies after the event as well.
The program is nearly complete - see the schedule on our FAQ page:

Will we see you in Surrey?
Lunch, coffee breaks and materials are included in the full 2 day conference price.
Specific separate meals for those with allergies cannot be accomodated this year.
If you are attending and have specific accessibility needs of any kind, please inform us in advance so that we may provide any additional needed accommodations.
Currently the venue is not fully accessible as the doors to enter the conference rooms, and to enter the washrooms, do not have access buttons to open the doors. People who need access may bring their vehicle to the front door of the hotel and the hotel staff will valet park their car free of charge. We will also ensure the conference room doors are open/accessible.
We do not at this point have ASL interpreters or captioning available. We hope to set this up for this conference or the next one. If we know in advance that you have need of this service, we will set it up and confirm with you as soon as possible.
We will have a quiet room available for most of the conference hours. Times will be posted, please ask if you need something outside of these times and we will provide an alternative.
There is underground pay parking available and the venue is a 4 minute walk from the Surrey Central Skytrain station.
Please contact the organizer with any questions about this event.
