Toronto, Ontario – This special presentation is a one-time screening of the award-winning documentary feature film “Be Here Now The Andy Whitfield Story” in Toronto at Imagine Carlton Cinema, 20 Carlton Street, Toronto on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.

Be Here Now The Andy Whitfield Story is a feature documentary, directed by Oscar® nominated filmmaker Lilibet Foster and produced by Silver Lining Entertainment, that follows television star, Andy Whitfield, of ‘Spartacus Blood and Sand’ fame, on his journey to seek answers and treatment options after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma cancer in March of 2010.

With the support of his charismatic wife, Vashti, and their two children, Andy and his family take his healing into their own hands, refusing to live in the shadow of this aggressive disease, and commit to living life fully no matter the outcome. Every step tests their limits and strength of character, yet unveils the tenderness, humour and determination of heart that defines this incredible family. As each person affected by Andy’s diagnosis goes through their own transformation, the film becomes an inspiring and universal story of courage, love and true resilience and shines a light on the need for more cancer research, treatment and care.

Proceeds from the screening benefit Toronto’s Sunnybrook Hospital’s Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research which seeks to help change the outcome for those diagnosed with brain cancer.

The screening also includes an invite to a Facebook Live talk-back event (TBA) with Vashti Whitfield.
