Prepare your heart, mind and soul to receive sound knowledge and inspirations. Join us with your friends and family in this women and girls eman boosting event. Boys 6-12 are also encouraged to join.

Free childcare with activities (age 2.5 to 7) throughout the program led by qualified teachers.

Parallel boys activities (age 8-12) during Women in Islam lecture.

About Shk. Hosam Helal

Shyakh Hosam Helal currently serves as the Education Director at the Muslim Association of Hamilton, the Islamic Program Coordinator at the Islamic Society of North America High Schools, a tutor for Alkauthar Institute, and a member of the board of directors of Mishka Social Services. He has served as Imam, Khateeb, and instructor for 10 years at several Masajid and Universities throughout Canada and the United States. He is also the founder and instructor of Quran Journey.

He memorized the Quran at the age of eight and has since received several Ijazahs in its various recitation styles. He completed his Islamic education in Quran exegesis through Al-Azhar University and studied under the guidance of several Shyookh including his father, Shaykh Ibrahim Helal, an instructor at Al-Azhar. He completed his education in Health & Disease, Near & Middle Eastern Civilization, Sociology, and Neuroscience at the University of Toronto. He currently resides in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada with his wife and family. He loves soccer/football, horseback riding, videography, sushi, swimming, and programming.


About Sr. Tasneem Ghauri

Sister Tasneem Ghauri was born and raised in Montreal. She is 1 of eleven children and has always been active in her Community. She taught Qur'an and Islamic studies in Montreal for 6 years and served as chairperson and volunteer with the Amal Center for Women. She has studied with the Islamic Online University and with local scholars. As a speaker for the Being ME women's conference she has lectured in Australia, Malaysia and here in Toronto.

She also supports Being ME by conducting Islamic workshops at various schools across the GTA and participating as a speaker for their Legacy Tour. She travels with her husband to teach. She speaks English and French and a little Arabic and Urdu. She an avid baker and mother of 2 very rambunctious homeschooled girls.


About Br. Ilyas Mao

Brother Ilyas Mao is a cappella singer, composer, songwriter, and producer. The talented artist is able to combine the structure, composition and rhythmic balance of a harmonic scale, giving him the ability to create multiple songs out of the whim using only his voice. The topics of his inspirational and uplifting songs range from social justice, family values, spiritual guidance, and promoting peace. Ilyas’ wealth of experience has led him to confidently engage audiences of all ages and culture.

Aside from performing, Ilyas has composed scores for several films and documentaries. Currently, Ilyas is a part of a sitcom series called “A Different Tune” which will be aired on Eman Channel UK on Sky TV in 2017.
