Event description

Description

Blue Dot Toronto is organizing a beach clean-up and bonfire at Ashbridges Bay!

Blue Dot is a grassroots movement working hard to encourage government to recognize, support and enshrine our right to live in a healthy environment into Canadian law.

Already, 110 countries around the world have done so, and more than 168 Canadian towns and cities have passed declarations recognizing this right. It’s time for everyone in Canada to have their right to a healthy environment recognized.

WHAT: Team clean-up of Woodbine Beach followed by a celebratory bonfire at Ashbridges Bay Park Fire Pit. Our bonfire menu will include roasted vegetable skewers, hot dogs, veggie dogs, corn-on-the-cob, apple bombs, banana boats, and s'mores!

WHEN: Wednesday, July 25, 5-9pm

WHERE: Meet at Woodbine Beach Bathing Station on the boardwalk near the intersection of Lake Shore Blvd. East and Northern Dancer Blvd (5-7pm). We'll move to the Ashbridges Bay Park Fire Pit at 7pm (7-9pm).

WHY: To keep our local environment healthy and celebrate community action while drawing attention to the importance of environmental rights.

BRING: Your Blue Dot t-shirt (if you have one), work (or gardening) gloves, closed-toed shoes, and a water bottle.

Rainy Day Plan: The beach clean-up will go ahead, rain or shine! If it rains, we'll move to the sheltered picnic area in Ashbridges Bay Park instead of the fire pit.
