Description

Becoming Our Own Protector:

A Silent Country Retreat on Buddhist Refuge

April 27 -29

with Gen Kelsang Suma

Buddha taught that peace and goodness are an indestructible part of our nature. Yet we find ourselves caught in a cycle of pain and confusion. By sincerely taking refuge in Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, we can begin to build the inner refuge of true protection from suffering and awaken to our pure nature.

Within the tranquility of retreat, we will be exploring how to build this inner refuge. Friday night will be an introductory teaching. On Saturday and Sunday each retreat session will include a brief teaching, prayers and a period of meditation.

Although this retreat is especially suitable for those with some previous experience of Buddhist meditation, anyone with a sincere interest is welcome to attend.

Please note The following important details:

  • If you wish to pay cash, this can be arranged by emailing Mike and NOT purchasing a ticket here. This will be subject to availability.

  • Light vegetarian meals will be included on all days.

  • We ask that everyone help with clean-up and set-up throughout the weekend.

  • When registering for a Shared Room (2 single beds per room) please make roommate arrangements with a friend and ask them to register seperately. Once you have both registered, please email Mike with the name of your roommate so that we can keep track of who will be sharing. Also please note that shared rooms are bunk-bed style so please plan accordingly with your roommate as the top bunks require you to climb a small ladder. If you do not have a roommate please email Mike and we will pair you with someone: adjampaling@gmail.com

  • Please let us know about any accessibility issues that you may have.

  • Please bring sheets (blankets provided), towels and toiletries as these are not provided.

  • The weekend will be silent starting after the introductory class Friday through until lunch Sunday.

  • If you have questions please email Mike adjampaling@gmail.com

  • Space is limited so register soon! If the day-only options are sold out and you are still interested in attending for 1 or more of the day-only sessions (without accommodations) please email adjampaling@gmail.com and we will add you to the wait list.
