About this event

Come join us at the lovely St. Brigid's Villa in Guelph for an immersive day of mindfulness and self-compassion practices in the midst of the splendour and glory of a Sunday in October!

Befriending Ourselves means caring and nurturing ourselves just as we do for all the others in our lives. The peaceful beauty of this facility and its surrounding area plus the support of kindred spirits will nurture you in this day of self-care, rejuvenation and reflection. Give yourself this time to soak in a sense of inner stillness and calm, to deepen, refresh or even begin your own mindfulness practices.

During this silent retreat, you will be guided in meditations, visualizations, mindful movement sessions (qi gong and yoga) and a forest bathing walk. There will also be time for journalling, reflection and savouring the beauty of the surroundings. Or, to just be.

This retreat is suitable for all levels of mindfulness, qi gong and yoga experience. A home-cooked vegetarian lunch and dessert plus snacks and coffee/tea will be offered. Please bring a yoga mat, pillow/blanket plus suitable outdoor walking shoes/boots.

To ensure a meaningful and quality experience for everyone, registration is limited.

10:00 Our day of silence begins with a welcome, intention setting for the day and guided meditation/visualization

11:15 Guided meditation/visualization

11:40 Lunch break

12:45 Yoga practice//Forest Bathing (Retreatants are split into two groups)
