Beekeeping is a fascinatiing and rewarding hobby
In this class we will cover basic bee anatomy, different types of beehives, the equipment you will need & where you can get it, and all basic information you should know before you start your adventure into keeping bees

- Queen, Drone and Worker Bee Identification
- Bee Hive Components
- Types of beehives, pros and cons
- Beekeeping equipment
- How to get free bees
- How to handle honey bees and frames of brood
- How to introduce bees to a beehive
- Seasonal beekeeper responsibilities and hive management
- Pests and diseases: biology and identification
We will not be handling bees at this class.
Class is held in our barn, heated & insulated.
