Event description

Description

Being an Active Bystander in the Workplace

McMaster University TMG and Unionized Staff Members

1:30 - 3:30pm

University staff encounter an array of complex issues related to equity and inclusion in the workplace, including witnessing biased comments and behaviours. In almost all such situations there are concerned individuals who want to act but don’t, because one of the most important factors in the situation is often overlooked – the role of the bystander. The goal of this workshop is to acquire the understanding and skills necessary to understand bystander behaviour and encourage effective and safe action to advance equity and inclusion in the workplace.

Light Refreshments will be served.
