Celebrate Black History Month with CBC and Being Black in Canada!
Hosted by Odario Williams and Marcia Young, Being Black in Canada Live will feature a keynote by singer, actor, and speaker Jully Black; performances by New Dimension Steel Orchestra, spoken word artist Keosha Love, musical artist Tracey Kayy; and a special preview of Being Black in Canada's 2023 programming, followed by a reception.

Health protocols: We would like to remind people of the recent public health advice in Ontario which strongly recommends the use of face masks for indoor spaces like the Barbara Frum Atrium. Please stay home if you are sick or have symptoms. Before attending, please check back for updates as health protocols and guidelines are subject to change.
Can children attend? Parents please consider the length of the event and the nature of the performances.

What if I reserved tickets but now I can’t make it? Please cancel your order so that your ticket(s) can be used by another interested attendee.
Can I show up without tickets? No, this is a ticketed event with a set capacity. If there are no tickets available, you can join the waitlist. You will be contacted if a spot becomes available.
How do I get to the event?
- Public transportation - There are several options for using the TTC to travel to the Canadian Broadcasting Centre:
- The closest subway stations are St. Andrew and Union- both are approximately a 7-minute walk from CBC
- The King 504 Streetcar stops at John St. which is approximately a 4-minute walk from CBC
- The Spadina 510 Streetcar stops at Front St. which is approximately a 7-minute walk from CBC
- Parking - all parking options are paid, and there are several lots located close to CBC. The closest one is located in Simcoe Place.
- The CBC is also connected to the PATH system, which is indoors and weather-protected.
