Description

Each Bell City Author Series event includes a glass of wine and cheese, an author talk and a book signing.
Tickets are $10 for each event. Or buy a series pass for $30.

Farah Heron & Jessica Westhead - September 5

Farah Heron and Jessica Westhead kick the series off. Heron’s latest book Chai Factor is a romantic comedy and Westhead’s books and short stories have earned multiple nominations and awards, including landing on The Globe and Mail Top 100 book list.

Emma Donoghue - November 21

Donoghue’s 2010 book Room was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize and adapted into an academy award nominated film. Since she has written bestselling books The Wonder and Frog Music. Her upcoming book - Akin - will be released this fall.

Alicia Elliott - January 23

Alicia Elliott is a Tuscarora writer living in Brantford. Her best-selling first book, A Mind Spread Out On The Ground, was released this March to critical acclaim. She has also written many award-winning essays and her short fiction has been selected for many influential short story anthologies.

We are working with book publishers to secure the best possible author for our April event. Stay tuned for details.



All events will be held in the 3rd Floor Auditorium at Main Branch in downtown Brantford.

Doors will open at 6:30 pm. and author's will begin speaking at 7:00 p.m. A book signing will follow with copies of books available for purchase on site.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

No, however be advised that alcohol will be served at this event. The Brantford Public Library reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who is intoxicated, disruptive, or unable to provide proof of legal drinking age.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Limited street parking is available in the immediate area around the library.

A municipal parkade is located directly behind the library at 59 Icomm Drive, Brantford, Ontario, N3S 7N9. Parking is $1.00 per hour.

Note that a person with a valid accessible parking permit, fully displayed, is not required to pay for parking in Brantford's municipal parking lots. Veterans with valid Ontario Veteran licence plates will receive free parking for a maximum of 24 hours in any municipal surface pay parking lot in the City of Brantford.

No, we can check your name against our list.

Absolutely. We just need to know what name to put on the ticket!
