About the Vancouver Metal Arts Association:

The Vancouver Metal Arts Association (VMAA) is a community of metal smiths - jewelers, blacksmiths, sculptors, mixed-media artists, enamellists, and others who work with metal or have an interest in the metal arts. VMAA was established as a non-profit society in British Columbia in 2012 with the purpose of offering a forum for metal smiths to exchange ideas and technical information, organize exhibitions of metal work, and increase public awareness of metal arts. Each member of VMAA decides what his/her level of involvement will be. Dues are collected to cover modest administrative costs.

About the Craft Council of BC:

The Craft Council of British Columbia is a charitable arts service organization which supports all stages of artistic practice in the craft sector; creates opportunities for artists to exhibit, sell and produce art; provides a voice for artists and craft organizations and aids in the development of active communities around craft. Since 1973 we have been making craft more significant in the cultural life of British Columbians and Canadians. Through our public gallery and social enterprise shops on Granville Island, at the Vancouver Airport Crafthouse, at LS Travel Retail in Victoria, and now at VanDusen, we exhibit and interpret contemporary objects in ceramic, glass, fiber, metal and wood that honor innovation in art, craft and design and celebrate materials and processes.
