Event description

Description

Join us Saturday May 2, 2020, 1:30 pm for our Open Beltane Maypole Ritual !!! Rain or Shine!

Come get your Faery Frolic On! Gather with us to celebrate the height of Spring, the greening of the Earth and the magic of life at full bloom! We will dance the Maypole and crown our May King & Queen in celebration of the generative powers of the Goddess and God and the joy of the unity we share with them.

We will be gathering upon the Cambridge Commons Park at the corner of Waterhouse Street & Massachusetts Avenue, Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA for Maypole and Ritual. Then we will move across the street to the Sage Hall at First Church at 11 Garden Street for a potluck feast and social time! In case of poor weather - the maypole and ritual will be moved into the Sage Hall as well.

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN RIBBON FOR THE MAYPOLE - 15-18 FEET long (1 inch wide satin ribbon tends to work well, please no plastic ribbon), in whatever color feels symbolically appropriate.

We will begin gathering around 1:30 pm, begin ritual and maypole round 2:00 pm.

Feel free to bring musical instruments (homemade or otherwise), flowers, and dress festively. Kiddos welcome!

It's a high feast day! Please bring a Pitch-in POTLUCK DISH to share. As a helpful potluck guideline, if your last name begins with A - N: please bring a protein/meat/savory dish; O - R: please bring a vegetable/fruit dish; S - U please bring a dessert or snack ; V - Z please bring a drink to share.

All of our rituals, events and classes are open to the public, no prior attendance at any Cornucopia event is needed. Cornucopia is a pluralistic community, we value all! Any tradition or level of learning/experience is welcomed! Newcomers are always welcome!

If it's your first time at one of our rituals and you don't know what to expect, this link is for you: https://www.cornucopiacollective.com/first-time-attending-

There is a $15 per person admission fee - which helps us cover costs of room rental and supplies.
