Benefit Brunch for Autism
Sun, 20 November 2016, 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM EST
Come enjoy a delicious brunch while supporting Camp Kaleidoscope, an Ottawa camp for individuals on the autism spectrum. This camp provides desperately needed respite for families dealing with autism while providing a truly fun experience for the campers. Camp Kaleidoscope is totally unique in its success in providing a positive experience for the campers. Campers want to come back! This essential service receives no government funding, and thus relies on constant fundraising efforts throughout the year.
Entertainment includes a stellar performance by the Capital Chordettes, an Ottawa based acapella chorus that has been performing and competing in the area for 50 years. Also learn more about the challenges of individuals and families dealing with autism from engaging guest speaker Cindy Girard. Cindy is the author of the upcoming book The Great Escape: Helping Someone Break Free from the Deep, Dark Dungeon of Depression. Cindy has two young adult sons on the spectrum and thus knows first-hand the challenges faced by individuals with autism and their families.
There will also be a tremendous opportunity to get some holiday shopping done at the silent auction. With more than 70 gift baskets, gift certificates, works of art, and Sens paraphanelia to bid on, you are bound to find several items for people on your shopping list.
Come, have a wonderful time and make a huge difference for a family dealing with autism!
Please, if you are purchasing tickets as a donation and do not intend on attending the event, please send an email via the contact link indicating the purchase is a donation. That way we do not pay for meals that will not be eaten. Thank you so much for your support!
