The Bereavement Ministry Training (also known as the Ministry of Consolation) is designed for those who are ministering to the bereaved in a parish setting.
New and seasoned parish bereavement ministers and volunteers are invited to join us for an interactive, two-day faith-based educational and spiritual learning opportunity.
You will learn about:
- The Order of Christian Funerals
- Communication and Listening Skills
- Overview of Grief and Mourning
- Facilitating Skills and Support Groups
- Beginning your Program
- Healing and Meditation
- Self Care for the Minister
Come, learn, and share how the Christian faithful comfort mourners with words of faith and support and with acts of kindness.
In order to complete the training, participants are required to attend both Saturdays.
There is no cost to attend. Please bring your own lunch. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
